Theme:  A Cue From Esther

Summary

Learn from Esther’s courageous decision to stand for her people and make bold choices for the Gospel. Trust in God’s grace, overcome fear, and pursue righteousness, even in challenging circumstances.

  • Esther’s Courageous Decision: The text draws inspiration from the book of Esther, particularly Esther 4:16, where Queen Esther decides to go before King Ahasuerus, even though it was against the law and carried the risk of death, to intercede for her people, the Jews. She resolutely declares, “If I perish, I perish.”
  • Divine Positioning: Esther’s story highlights the concept of divine positioning. Mordecai, Esther’s cousin, suggests that perhaps she had been divinely positioned in the palace to make a difference at that critical moment. Esther seizes the opportunity to take a stand for her people.
  • Bold Choices for the Gospel: The text emphasizes the importance of making crucial decisions for the Gospel, similar to Esther’s decision. It encourages believers to recognize and take advantage of the grace God has bestowed upon them to lead others to victory and fulfill their purpose in life and ministry.
  • Overcoming Fear: Fear should not hold believers back from acting on the truth and making bold choices, even in the face of daunting challenges and dangers. Trust in God’s grace and the courage to act on the truth are essential.
  • Courage to Pursue Righteousness: Esther’s example teaches believers to be willing to face anything in pursuit of what is right. It’s a reminder that in pivotal moments, fear must not prevent them from standing firm on the truth of God’s Word.
