Theme: Cut Them Off!

Summary

In today’s devotional, Believers are given authority by Jesus to cast out demons and exercise control over Satan’s influence in their lives. By consistently using the Word of God and the Name of Jesus, they can cut off Satan from their lives and live in victory.

  • Dealing with Satan: The text begins by highlighting that demons are often responsible for many afflictions people experience. It mentions that Jesus cast out many demons during His ministry, showing that they are behind various sufferings.
  • Authority to Cast Out Demons: Jesus granted believers the authority to cast out demons. Mark 16:17 lists this as the first sign of those who believe.
  • Lessons from Jesus’ Temptation: The text draws lessons from Jesus’ temptations in the wilderness. In response to Satan’s temptations, Jesus consistently said, “It is written,” emphasizing the importance of the Word of God.
  • Casting Out Satan: In the final temptation, when Satan offered Him the kingdoms of the world in exchange for worship, Jesus responded with authority, saying, “Get out of here, Satan!” The text explains that this is an example of casting out the devil.
  • Exercising Authority in Christ: The text encourages believers to exercise their authority over Satan and his demons. Believers have the right, the power of attorney, to use the Name of Jesus to subdue Satan and his forces. They should say, “Devil, this is my child; take your hands off my child; get out of here!” in faith and authority.
  • Cutting Off Satan: Believers should cut off Satan and his influence from their lives, homes, bodies, cities, and nations. They have the legal right to use the Name of Jesus to subdue Satan.
