[LISTEN] Rhapsody of Realities Audio October 16 2023 By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome (Christ Embassy)
Theme: The Life He’s Given Us
Today’s devotional teaches us that through Jesus, believers have been granted an abundant life to the full. By understanding the law of the Spirit of life, they can walk in the consciousness of their new life, free from the dominion of death, and filled with gratitude for this glorious gift.
- The Purpose of Jesus’ Coming: The text emphasizes that many people do not fully understand why Jesus came. It differentiates between His mission for Israel as a nation and His mission for the entire world. For the world, Jesus came to give life in abundance, not just any life, but a life to the full.
- Jesus: The Embodiment of Life: The text highlights that Jesus wasn’t just a bearer of life; He was life personified. Quoting 1 John 1:2, it reaffirms that Jesus embodied life. Moreover, it cites John 5:26, which describes Jesus as having life in Himself, giving Him the ability to grant life to the full.
- The Law of the Spirit of Life: The text discusses the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, found in Romans 8:2. It clarifies that this law doesn’t just free believers from death but makes them “death-free.” Believers are declared untouchable by death and have been translated from the realm of death into the realm of life.
- Confession of Life: The text encourages believers to confess their new life in Christ and walk in the consciousness of being more than conquerors, victorious in every situation. It calls for thankfulness for the glorious life given through Christ.
