- The opening scripture in 1 John 4:8-9 reveals that God is love, and His love is manifested through the sending of His only begotten Son to the world so that we might live through Him.
- The love of God is synonymous with the righteousness of God. It is the demonstration of His righteousness in action.
- The righteousness of God causes His love to emanate and be expressed. Love cannot be inactive; it requires an object that can receive and reciprocate love.
- When the righteousness of God is in manifestation, His love is experienced. Lack of understanding of God’s righteousness leads to a deficiency in walking in love.
- Walking in love is a mark of maturity in Christ, rooted in the understanding and living in the righteousness of God.
- The more you know the Lord and His righteousness, the more His love is reflected back to you and expressed through you.
- As believers, we are made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and this truth should compel us to walk in love.
- Understanding and living in the righteousness of God enables us to walk in love and reflect His nature to the world.
