Theme: Give Joyfully In Faith

Summary

Jesus Christ, through His death and resurrection, became the first to be born again and emerged as the head of the new creation. By accepting His sacrifice and receiving Him as our Lord and Savior, we partake in His righteousness and newness of life. We are now part of the new creation, living in the divine life and reigning with Him. Let us embrace this truth and walk in the reality of our new birth in Christ.

  • The scripture from Revelation 1:5 describes Jesus as the faithful witness, the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth.
  • Some people may question the need for being born again by referring to Jesus, stating that He wasn’t born again. However, it is important to understand that Jesus was indeed born again.
  • Jesus was born again on the day He was raised from the dead. This occurred because He became sin for humanity on the Cross, as stated in 2 Corinthians 5:21.
  • On the Cross, Jesus took on our nature and became our perfect substitute. He bore our sins and died in our place. His death and burial represent the payment for our sins.
  • However, Jesus’ story didn’t end there. He was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father for our justification. His resurrection demonstrated the adequacy of His sacrifice for our justification.
  • Jesus is referred to as “the first begotten of the dead,” signifying that He was the first to come out of spiritual death and be born again. He represents the head of the new creation.
  • Through Jesus’ vicarious death and sacrifice, we have been made righteous. Through His resurrection, we now live the divine life and reign with Him from the heavenly realms.
  • As believers, we share in His resurrection life and are part of the new creation in Christ
